I am a master’s student at the Rehabilitation Sciences Institute at UofT. My research interests lie in understanding sex differences in disorders involving the brain and how they are impacted by women's health factors. Although sex differences exist in various neuropsychiatric disorders only ~5% of studies examine these differences in the literature and there are 9x less studies in females compared to males in Neuroscience and Psychiatry.
Before joining the lab I completed my Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of British Columbia where I was involved in projects investigating the extent of sex bias and the lack of female specific studies in both published Neuroscience and Psychiatry literature, and within awarded CIHR grants and on how exercise interacted with BDNFval/met genotype to influence cognition and neuroplasticity across sex.
In my spare time I can be found reading, hiking, or spending time with my 2 very needy cats.
